For ADAM users

adam:ONE® assist

The companion browser extension for adam:ONE® users. It makes HTTPS block-page redirects transparent and lets users request inspection for new sites denied by Adaptive AI policy.

adam:ONE® protects devices without the need of an endpoint agent.

adam:ONE® assist & Block Page Assistant are browser extensions to help enhance user experience in a ZTc (Zero Trust Connectivity) environment.

What it does

How the extension assists the browser

The extension works alongside an adam:ONE®-protected gateway. It does not replace the gateway policy or inspect encrypted traffic on the endpoint.

Clear block-page feedback

See when an HTTPS site has been denied and understand what happened instead of facing an unexplained failed connection.

Request an inspection

Trigger an inspection request for a new site blocked by your Zero Trust Connectivity Adaptive AI policy.

Optional browser tools

Enable domain tracking and reCAPTCHA redirect features only when you choose to use them.

Technical functionality

f1

Blocked HTTPS redirection

Redirects blocked HTTPS pages to the locally hosted mytools.management service so the appropriate block page can be displayed.

Safari 16.6 does not perform this redirection for domains entered directly into the address bar.

f2

Local extension presence notification

Notifies the locally hosted mytools.management service that the browser extension is installed and present.

f3

Protection-status display

Shows whether the device is protected behind adam:ONE®. Hovering over the extension icon displays the status as text.

f4

Optional reCAPTCHA redirection

Can redirect www.google.com/recaptcha to www.recaptcha.net/recaptcha when Google domains are denied. This function is off by default.

Enable only when Google is blocked. Sites with a restrictive Content-Security-Policy may reject the redirected CAPTCHA.

f5

Optional website dependency listing

Lists the current website’s domain dependencies when the extension button is clicked. This adam:ONE® assist-only function is off by default and supported on Chromium- and Firefox-based browsers.

Protection status at a glance

The extension icon communicates whether protection is detected for the device. Hovering over the icon also presents the current status as text.

Setup and use

  1. After installation, the base functions f1–f3 operate immediately on most supported platforms.
  2. Safari does not enable installed extensions automatically. Open Safari > Preferences > Extensions and enable adam:ONE® assist.
  3. Use the extension icon to view protection status; hover over it to read the status in text.
  4. To activate f4 or f5, right-click the extension, open Options, and enable only the functions you need.
  5. When Domain Listing is enabled, click the extension icon to view dependencies. Use Clear to purge the list and start over.

Privacy and security

  • When a page fails to load, its domain and path are passed to mytools.management, a local process on the user’s gateway, to determine whether the system block page should appear.
  • This domain and path information does not leave the user’s network.
  • Users can receive policy-enforcement feedback and trigger an unblock request when protected by ZTc Adaptive Allowlisting.
  • Domain tracking and reCAPTCHA redirection are disabled by default and run only when the user enables them.

Implementation note

adam:ONE® assist does not rely on endpoint-installed third-party certificates to intercept encrypted traffic. It transparently shows the redirect to a block page, while domain tracking and reCAPTCHA redirecting remain off by default until enabled by the user.
